There were many main points to the 21st amendment. The 21st Amendment came into action on February 20, 1933, and it was ratified on December 5, 1933. The 21st Amendment became the one and only amendment to repeal another amendment, the Eighteenth Amendment. Another first came from the 1st Amendment, it was the only one ratified by state conventions other than by state legislatures. The 21st Amendment ended 14 years of prohibition. The Amendment was passed to go against the 18th Amendment because although some of the crime had reduced a few years later, banning alcohol was impossible, there was always people breaking the law. The 21st Amendment granted all the people's rights to consume alcohol back. All the pain the woman had gone through getting the 18th Amendment passed was ruined by this amendment being passed.
